Job Title: Conventional Machinist
Location: New Glasgow, NS
Job Type: Full-Time Ongoing Assignment
Schedule: Monday - Friday, 9AM - 5PM
Job Overview:
Advantage Personnel is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Conventional Machinist to join our client in Current Glasgow. This role is ideal for a hands-on tradesperson who takes pride in precision work and thrives in a shop environment focused on quality, safety, and craftsmanship.
You will be responsible for machining and repairing components using manual equipment to support a wide range of industrial and mechanical applications.
Responsibilities:
Set up and operate milling machines and lathes
Interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and work instructions
Produce precision components to exact specifications
Ensure all work is completed in compliance with safety standards
Assist with machine setup for production processes




Support and guide apprentice team members as needed
Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment
Requirements:
Minimum 5 years of machining experience
Strong understanding of milling and lathe operations
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings
Machinist trade certification preferred (3rd and 4th year apprentices will be considered)
Knowledge of materials and machining processes
CNC experience is considered an asset
Strong commitment to safety and quality workmanship
Preferred:
Red Seal Machinist certification (or equivalent experience)
Experience in industrial repair or custom fabrication environments
