**Job Title: Carpenter / Technician**
**Job Description**
This role combines hands-on carpentry, concrete work, and general construction duties on heavy construction and industrial projects, including pipelines, chemical plants, water and wastewater treatment facilities, and manufacturing, food, and automotive plants.

You will help set up current projects, support ongoing work, and assist in safely closing down sites, taking on a wide variety of tasks as needed.
**Responsibilities**
Perform basic carpentry tasks, including building and installing structures, forms, and temporary works for heavy construction and industrial projects.

Build basic concrete forms, assist with concrete pours, and support related concrete work from preparation through to finishing as directed.

Support project setup activities, including preparing tools, materials, and work areas, and assist in organizing site logistics at the start of each job.

Participate in project shutdown activities, including dismantling temporary structures, removing forms, cleaning work areas, and preparing sites for turnover or demobilization.

Carry out general labour duties such as site cleanup, debris removal, material handling, and tasks like laying sod or other site restoration work.

Assist with start-up and testing of equipment and systems as part of construction and industrial project commissioning activities.
**Essential Skills**
2+ years of hands-on carpentry and concrete experience.

Proven experience working with construction plans and blueprints and the ability to read and interpret them accurately.

Comfort working outdoors in varying weather conditions and in environments such as construction sites, water and wastewater facilities, and masonry-related settings.

Willingness to perform a mix of carpentry, concrete, and general labour duties, including physical tasks such as lifting, carrying, and site cleanup.

Ability and willingness to travel to support projects across multiple locations.
**Work Environment**
This is a travel-heavy role that requires frequent trips to various project locations including areas such as Kitchener–Waterloo, Orangeville, Burlington, Collingwood, and Sarnia.

You work primarily on active construction and industrial sites, which can be noisy, dusty,



and cold, and you must be comfortable in physically demanding and sometimes uncomfortable conditions.
**Job Type & Location**
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Waterloo, ON.
**Pay and Benefits**
The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $40.00/hr.
**Workplace Type**
This is a fully onsite position in Waterloo,ON.
