Responsibilities
- Perform thorough dental cleanings, including scaling, polishing, and fluoride treatments to promote optimal oral health.
- Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices, including brushing, flossing, and dietary habits.
- Take and develop digital X-rays, ensuring accuracy and patient comfort throughout the process.
- Assist in diagnosing oral health issues by reviewing medical histories and documenting findings clearly.
- Collaborate with dentists and dental assistants to develop personalized treatment plans for patients.
- Maintain accurate patient records using Dentrix or similar dental management software.
- Support pediatric patients by creating a friendly workplace that encourages cooperation and comfort during visits.
- Communicate effectively with bilingual patients to ensure understanding of treatment procedures and home care instructions.
Qualifications
- Valid licensure as a Registered Dental Hygienist in the state of practice.
- Proven experience in dental hygiene, preferably within a fast-paced dental office setting.
- Proficiency in Cleardent or other practice management software.
- Knowledge of orthodontics, pediatrics, and general dentistry procedures is highly desirable.
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to connect with diverse patient populations.
- Familiarity with medical terminology relevant to dental care.
