Our client, a leading financial institution in Downtown Toronto, is looking for a Mainframe Developer - COBOL, JCL, DB2 to develop and maintain applications using COBOL and JCL on mainframe systems. The successful candidate will have the prospect to work with one of the Top 5 Banks in Canada.
Typical Day in role:
Perform unit testing of COBOL/DB2 modules
Support QA Testing (QAT) execution and defect resolution
Collaborate with team members to deliver enhancements and improvements
Must-Have Skills:
3+ years of development experience in all these Mainframe technologies: Cobol, JCL, DB2
Hands-on experience with version control tools: Endevor (preferred) or similar tools (e.g. Control-M)
Nice-To-Have Skills:
Experience with scheduling tools such as CA7
Financial industry experience is an asset
Experience with Jenkins, Github,
Bitbucket is an additional advantage
Soft Skills Required:
Valuable communication skills
Education:
Bachelors in technical field
