We are seeking a pragmatic, collaborative, and highly adaptable Senior Content Designer to join our client's team. In this role, you will deliver high-impact, audience-focused content across multiple digital projects, simplifying complex financial concepts and creating seamless user experiences. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to design, evaluate, and modify language across tools, applications, websites, and prototypes.
This is a 1-year contract position that operates on a hybrid schedule, requiring 4 days per week in-office at a downtown Toronto location.
Description
As a Senior Content Designer, you will play a pivotal role in driving content strategy, UX writing, accessibility, and regulatory alignment across mobile apps, public sites, and commercial platforms. You will apply user-centered design methodologies to simplify complex information, ensure accessibility, and align content with overarching business and brand objectives. This role requires solid strategic content planning, proactive problem-solving, and the ability to influence key stakeholders while adapting to agile project needs.
Responsibilities
- Content Experience Design: Conceptualize, design, and execute future-state and near-term cross-channel content experiences using user-centered design methodologies.
- UX Writing & Editing: Apply advanced writing, editing, and proofreading skills to create intuitive, accessible, and user-friendly language for apps, websites, and prototypes.
- Lifecycle Collaboration: Participate in all phases of the product development lifecycle, including ideation, scoping, estimating effort, user research, design execution, and post-launch evaluation.
- Stakeholder Engagement & Strategy: Align content strategy with business priorities, taking direction from Content Design Leads and collaborating with Product Owners, Tech Leads, Experience Design Leads, and Control Partners.
- Compliance & Governance:
Ensure all digital experiences comply with internal and external regulatory requirements, financial controls, and risk management guidelines.
- Problem Solving & Knowledge Sharing: Function as a subject matter expert in content design, solving complex problems requiring multi-variable analysis and guiding cross-functional teams on best practices.
Requirements
Must-Have Qualifications:
- Experience: 5+ years of digital, conversational, or UX content design experience.
- Writing Mastery: Advanced writing, editing, and proofreading skills in English, with a proven ability to simplify complex concepts into audience-focused content.
- Strategic Content Planning: Strong ability to create strategic content plans and align them with business and brand objectives.
- Stakeholder Management: Exceptional communication skills with a track record of building relationships, collaborating across teams, and influencing stakeholders.
- Core Competencies: Self-motivated, highly organized, flexible, accountable, and passionate about user experience design.
- Education: Undergraduate degree or equivalent practical experience.
Nice-to-Have Qualifications:
- Prior experience in Financial Services or Financial Institutions (FI).
- Experience designing for public websites or mobile applications.
- Familiarity with Figma or similar design tools.
- Background in a design-related discipline (User-Centered Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Design Strategy, Human Factors, or Psychology).
