Join Minwaashin Lodge's STORM program as a Mobile Outreach Worker providing essential evening support to Indigenous women in Ottawa. This part time role focuses on advocacy and resource connection.
In this position at Oshki Kizis Lodge, you'll collaborate in a two-person outreach team, reporting to the Shelter Director. You'll assist women at risk of homelessness, providing access to necessary services while managing the demands of a physically active role. Your insights into the Indigenous community will be invaluable.
Key Responsibilities:
• Collaborate with a partner to deliver outreach support
• Assist First Nations, Inuit, & Métis women during crises
• Facilitate referral to shelter services and community resources




• Maintain confidential logs of services provided
• Attend community meetings and prepare resources
Requirements:
• Two years of experience with Indigenous communities required
• Post-secondary education or equivalent experience preferred
• Excellent communication and computer skills
• Valid driver's license and First Aid certification needed
• Ability to work some weekends
