About the Client:

We're seeking a compassionate caregiver for a woman in her senior years living independently in Richmond. She has mild dementia and values her independence, though she sometimes resists help. Her late husband recently passed, and while family visits regularly, she benefits from professional support to maintain her quality of life at home. She uses a walker or wheelchair for mobility and needs someone patient who can respect her desire for autonomy while providing necessary assistance.

Responsibilities:

- Provide mobility support for someone using a walker or wheelchair
- Assist with medication management and reminders
- Offer memory prompts and gentle redirection for cognitive support
- Prepare light meals including reheating pre-prepared food
- Accompany during mealtimes to ensure proper nutrition
- Monitor safety and provide supervision as needed
- Engage in companionship and conversation
- Communicate regularly with family about care and any concerns

What We're Looking For:

The ideal caregiver will make the client feel comfortable and respected in her own home. We need someone who is calm, patient, and brings positive energy to each visit. Reliability and consistency are essential, as is the ability to take initiative when needed. Strong communication skills with both the client and family are a must. Experience with walker/wheelchair assistance, medication management, and memory care is required.



The caregiver should respect the client's independence while ensuring her safety and well-being. English-speaking is required.

Schedule:

We're starting with Monday, Wednesday, and Friday afternoons from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM. There may be chance to add meal preparation visits and increase hours as the relationship develops and the client becomes more comfortable. Consistency with the same caregiver is very important to help build trust and familiarity.
