As our engineering department continues to grow, we are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Energy Modeller & Energy Analyst to join our team.

Position Overview
The Energy Modeller & Energy Analyst is responsible for developing accurate building energy models, supporting energy conservation projects, and providing technical analysis for clients and internal engineering teams.
The ideal candidate combines strong technical expertise with outstanding communication skills. You are equally comfortable discussing technical concepts with engineers as you are presenting recommendations to clients in a clear, professional, and easy-to-understand manner.
You are highly organized, thrive in a fast-paced environment, and consistently produce accurate work while managing multiple projects and deadlines.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop accurate building energy models using HOT2000, eQUEST, and other industry-standard software.
- Analyze building energy performance and identify opportunities for energy savings.
- Prepare technical reports, energy modelling documentation, and project summaries.
- Support engineering and project management teams throughout the design and construction process.
- Assist with energy conservation studies.
- Communicate technical findings and recommendations to clients in a professional and understandable manner.
- Coordinate with engineers, contractors, utilities, equipment manufacturers, and project managers.
- Maintain organized project documentation and ensure all modelling files are accurate and up to date.
- Review project drawings, specifications, and equipment schedules to ensure modelling accuracy.
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines and maintaining exceptional quality standards.
- Stay current with industry standards, incentive programs, and energy modelling best practices.
Skills & Qualifications
- Proficient with using HOT2000 and eQUEST is required.
- Experience with commercial, industrial, institutional, or multi-residential building energy modelling.
- Strong understanding of HVAC systems, electrical systems, building envelopes, and energy conservation principles.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficient with Microsoft Excel.
- Solid working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Teams.
- Exceptional organizational skills with outstanding attention to detail.
- Ability to prepare accurate technical reports and documentation.
- Excellent written communication, grammar, and formatting skills.
- Outstanding verbal communication and presentation skills.
- Able to explain technical information clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Comfortable working independently while collaborating effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
- Ability to prioritize multiple deadlines and perform well in a fast-paced environment.
- Positive attitude with a strong commitment to teamwork and client service.
- Able to remain calm, professional, and solution-focused during high-pressure situations.
- Fast learner who embraces new technologies, software, and engineering practices.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience preparing energy models for utility incentive programs.
- Knowledge of Ontario Building Code energy requirements.
- Knowledge of ASHRAE standards and energy efficiency guidelines.
- Experience with IES VE, EnergyPlus, RETScreen, or similar modelling software is considered an asset.
- Experience working within consulting engineering or design-build environments is considered an asset.

Pay: $40,000.00-$80,000.00 per year
