The Role
Join a community of STEM specialists who are passionate about demystifying science and mathematics. We're recruiting talented instructors across multiple STEM disciplines to work one-on-one with students from Grade 3 through advanced high school coursework. If you love watching students have "aha!" moments and want flexibility on your own terms, this is the chance.
STEM Disciplines We're Actively Recruiting
- Mathematics: From elementary numeracy and problem-solving through algebra, geometry, calculus, and university-level prep
- Chemistry: Foundational concepts to honors-level and post-secondary coursework in organic and inorganic chemistry
- Physics: Conceptual understanding through mechanics, electricity, waves, quantum concepts, and advanced topics
- Biology: Life sciences, human anatomy, cellular biology, genetics, ecology, and specialized study areas
- General Science: Integrated and exploratory science for elementary and middle grades
What You'll Do
- Personalized Lesson Crafting: Build custom lessons that adapt to each student's pace, learning style, and specific academic goals
- Diagnostic Teaching: Quickly identify knowledge gaps and use evidence-based strategies to rebuild understanding from the ground up
- Tech-Enhanced Instruction: Use Zoom, interactive tools, simulations, and digital resources to make abstract concepts concrete and engaging
- Progress Documentation:
Track student advancement systematically and provide meaningful, detailed feedback
- Curriculum Grounding: Align lessons with Ontario Curriculum frameworks while staying responsive to individual learner needs
Who We're Looking For
- Subject Specialists: Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Chemistry, Physics, Biology, Science, Education, Engineering, or closely related STEM field
- Multi-Level Instructors: Comfortable spanning Grade 3 through Grade 12; able to scaffold and extend material as needed
- Engaging Educators: Energetic, patient teaching presence that makes complex material accessible and exciting
- Tech-Savvy Professionals: Proficient with video platforms, digital tools, and willing to troubleshoot basic technical issues
- Schedule-Flexible Teachers: Available for evening and weekend sessions to meet student needs
