Overview

Atlantic Human Services Inc. is seeking a client-focused, resourceful, and bilingual professional to join our team as an Employment & Career Services Counselor. In this role, you will act as the first point of contact for individuals looking to re-enter the workforce, change careers, or upgrade their skills. You will manage our onsite Career Information Centre, provide technical support, and offer one-on-one resume guidance to ensure clients have the tools they need to succeed.

Key Responsibilities

- Client Support: Guide and assist clients with job search strategies, career exploration, and training options.
- Resume Services: Offer basic resume and cover letter writing assistance to enhance client employability.
- Resource Management: Maintain onsite computer workstations and organize the Career Information Centre resources.
- Technical Aid: Provide hands-on troubleshooting for clients using computers, faxes, and digital job banks.
- System Monitoring: Oversee public computer terminals to ensure safe, professional, and policy-compliant usage.
- Compliance: Read, understand, and strictly abide by Atlantic Human Services Inc.



policies and regional PETL guidelines.

Qualifications & Requirements

- Education: Minimum of one (1) year of post-secondary education in a related social service or business discipline.
- Experience: Combined total of four (4) years of education and direct customer service experience.
- Language: Fluent verbal and written communication skills in both official languages (English and French).
- Technical Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office, internet search engines, social media networking, and basic office hardware.
- Core Skills: Strong interpersonal consulting, time management, conflict resolution, and critical thinking.
- Screening: A clean Criminal Record Check is a mandatory condition of employment.

What Knowledge You Bring

- Deep understanding of New Brunswick's Provincial and Regional labour market trends.
- Familiarity with federal and provincial employment programs and financial services.
- Contemporary strategies for interview preparation and job search tools.

Pay: $24.50-$25.00 per hour

Work Location: In person
