Position: Forman / Crew lead: Arborist – Climber – 444a OR Utility Arborist – Climber 444b – ISA Certified Arborist

Location: Westport, ON

Employment type: Part-time position with full-time hours; two week lay-off over Christmas and New years. Lay-off / reduced hours from late January to March due to weather conditions and site access.

Compensation: $40/hr to $45/hr plus advantages, RRSP contributions, overtime pay, approved time off, paid training, willing to reimburse ISA fees.

Requirements / Experience / Qualifications:

- Minimum five years in forestry / arboriculture

- Follow work orders and execute work as per details

- Experience as crew lead / supervisor / forman

- Equipment and tool experience related to the trade

- DZ / AZ / ARZ licence

- Client and public relations

- Coaching and training

- Safety and performance management

- Valid 444a and or 444b and or ISA Certificate

- Wear all required PPE

- Experience in pruning and removing trees in any terrain and in all weather conditions

- Technical rigging and climbing are a must

- Ownership of personal climbing gear

- Utility Experience is a bonus and will be compensated

- Boaters licence is an asset





- Any other training / experiences and certifications related to forestry / utility / arboriculture / horticulture are assets and could be compensated for.

Madden Tree is a small business, with a team of 10 employees located in Westport, Ontario. We are a physically demanding company with many equipment assets to help make the job easier. Our main work consists of tree removal and pruning for residential, utility and commercial clients, also offering tree planting, tree health care, reporting / consulting, land clearing, firewood / mulch / lumber sales.

Madden Tree is looking for a production-based climber / bucket operator / crew lead to start immediately. Our regular hours are Monday to Friday. Start time 6:30am with a goal to be done for 5pm daily.

Equipment – Bucket trucks, track lift, track chipper, large chippers with winches, mini skid steers (multiple attachments), tractor (multiple attachments), mini excavator (multiple attachments), Chipper trucks, pickups, sales car, Grapple saw knuckle boom, knuckle boom / crane, skidder, trailers, stumpers, boats, hand tools, saws, rigging gear, ect.
