The organization encourages proactive communication, partnership with operations, and a willingness to challenge “we’ve always done it this way” mindsets in a respectful and constructive manner.Reporting to the Plant Manager, the Human Resources Manager will lead all site-level HR initiatives and partner closely with operations leadership. This role will support a workforce of approximately 200 employees, including both unionized and non-unionized team members. The successful candidate will be responsible for employee relations, investigations, recruitment, compliance, and change management, while maintaining strong union relationships. Apply today.Duties and Responsibilities- Partner with plant leadership to implement Human Resources (HR) policies, programs, and initiatives aligned with operational goals.- Manage full-cycle recruitment, interviewing, hiring, and onboarding processes for site employees.- Develop and execute recruitment and retention strategies in collaboration with plant leadership.- Maintain effective working relationships with union representatives and administer the collective agreement.- Interpret, manage, and support grievance procedures and employee relations matters.- Conduct workplace investigations and provide guidance on disciplinary actions.- Support change management initiatives within a manufacturing environment.- Ensure compliance with British Columbia (BC) labour laws and employment standards.- Provide guidance to leadership on performance management and progressive discipline.- Lead onboarding touchpoints and gather feedback to improve employee experience.- Conduct exit interviews and identify trends to support retention efforts.- Manage employee leaves and related documentation.- Support training initiatives and policy updates in coordination with leadership.- Participate in leadership discussions related to operational policy and workforce planning.- Plan and coordinate employee engagement initiatives and recognition activities.- Maintain confidentiality and professionalism in all aspects of the role.Education- Post‑secondary education in Human Resources (HR), Business Administration,
or a related field is required.- Human Resources certification such as Chartered Professional in Human Resources (CPHR) or equivalent is considered an asset.Qualifications- Willingness to relocate to Golden, BC.- Clean criminal background check.- Strong knowledge of British Columbia (BC) employment legislation and labour relations practices.- Demonstrated ability to manage union relationships and collective agreements.- Experience conducting employee investigations and managing complex employee relations matters.Experience- Minimum five (5) years of Human Resources management experience.- Experience working in a unionized environment is required.- Experience within manufacturing, industrial, or production environments is considered an asset.- Experience supporting change management initiatives is preferred.- Experience with British Columbia (BC) employment legislation and labour relations practices.Skills- Emotional Intelligence: Ability to navigate sensitive situations with professionalism and empathy.- Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills across all levels of the organization.- Conflict Resolution: Confident handling of grievances, investigations, and employee relations matters.- Change Management: Ability to support evolving operational needs and drive adoption of new practices.- Relationship Building: Skilled at establishing credibility with employees, leadership, and union representatives.- Organizational Skills: Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced plant environment.Base Salary120,000-135,000 per year- Salary will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.- Comprehensive perks package and additional employee programs available.Work Hours- Full‑time position.- Monday to Friday schedule, with flexibility required to support plant operations as needed.Additional Notes- This opportunity includes relocation.
