About the Role

This is a hands-on, active position best suited to someone who genuinely enjoys working with dogs and has previous professional experience in animal care.

Your responsibilities will include:

- Supervising dogs in an energetic, crate-free play environment
- Reading body language and managing appropriate group play
- Walking dogs of all sizes and energy levels
- Correcting behaviour calmly and confidently
- Maintaining a clean and sanitary facility throughout the day
- Cleaning accidents immediately and following our high hygiene standards
- Welcoming clients and communicating clearly during drop-off and pick-up
- Feeding dogs when required
- Working closely with teammates to ensure everything runs smoothly

This role involves being on your feet for most of the shift and requires confidence handling multiple dogs at once.

Position Details

- Approximately 25 hours per week
- Monday to Friday
- Shifts between 9:00 AM and 8:00 PM
- Part-Time or Full-Time
- Long-term opportunity
- Start date: As soon as possible
- Pay: $18+/hour, depending on experience and qualifications

Essential Qualifications

We are looking for someone who:





- Has at least one year of professional experience working with dogs (daycare, boarding kennel, veterinary clinic, grooming salon or similar)
- Is passionate about dog welfare
- Is punctual, reliable and responsible
- Is energetic and enjoys an active work environment
- Can confidently supervise groups of dogs with different personalities
- Understands dog body language and can safely redirect behaviour
- Communicates clearly and professionally with clients and coworkers
- Works well independently and as part of a team
- Can walk multiple dogs safely in all weather conditions
- Is physically able to stand, walk and move throughout an active shift
- Is fluent in English

Assets (Not Required)

- Adaptable availability (early mornings, evenings, weekends, holidays, overnight or on-call)
- 3+ years of professional dog care experience
- Education related to animal care, behaviour or training
- Skilled references

Training

You’ll receive hands-on training directly from a member of KYON’s ownership team. We believe in setting our staff up for success and creating a supportive, welcoming workplace.
