As part of the Food Services Team, you'll contribute to a supportive setting for youth aged 16 to 24. You'll have 3 to 5 years of cooking experience in institutional settings and a genuine interest in serving at-risk youth. Your ability to create meals while considering dietary needs will have a meaningful impact in this essential role.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare daily meals for youth in a cafeteria setting
Cater for agency events and special dietary needs
Maintain high standards of cleanliness throughout kitchen areas
Assist with menu planning and food resource management
Manage rescued food to minimize waste
Requirements:
3 to 5 years' experience as a Cook in institutional kitchens
Capacity for medium to large volume food production
Culinary education background or certifications an asset
Ability to work on weekends and Stat Holidays
Solid organizational skills and knowledge of cooking methods
Make a difference through culinary skills while supporting the mission of Covenant House Vancouver.
