Become a key player in governance with the Council of the Haida Nation as a full time Governance Manager located in Skidegate or Masset. You will lead governance initiatives that reflect Haida cultural values and community engagement.
In this critical role, you are responsible for coordinating daily operations, managing budgets, and providing guidance to staff. Collaborating closely with leadership and committees will be essential to foster a transparent and accountable governance process that ensures Haida self-determination.
Key Responsibilities:
• Coordinate daily operations of the Governance team
• Support budget management and funding proposals
• Draft documents and reports for leadership decisions
• Enhance governance frameworks and operational practices
• Organize logistics for governance meetings and sessions
Requirements:
• Minimum 3–5 years in governance or management
• Bachelor’s degree in Public Administration or related field
• Proven supervisory and communication skills
• Experience with First Nations governments
• Understanding of Haida culture and governance
Lead significant governance projects while supporting the preservation of Haida heritage and community participation.
