Manager, Finance Data Analytics & Insights
The opportunity
As the Manager, Finance Data Analytics & Insights, you will work with Finance teams on key data & analytical tools initiatives and projects. In conjunction with the Director of Finance Data Analytics & Insights, you will partner on DA&I; initiatives and coordinate between Finance teams and other departments within OTPP to enable timely, efficient, and effective development and implementation of Finance data initiatives and BI solutions.
Who you'll work with
You will provide support to business users and decision makers within Finance to develop and maintain BI solutions that unlock actionable intelligence and insights that guide management decisions. You will also have the opportunity to work closely with partners in EOD Data & Analytics who support the BI solutions infrastructure and development process.
What you'll do
- Participate in various projects and initiatives within the Finance Data Analytics & Insights team, including development and maintenance of Finance dashboards that include key financial metrics currently reported or tracked by various Finance teams (e.g., Risk, Performance, Valuation, Expenses).
- Continuously refresh and update the Finance DA&I; prioritized list of opportunities.
- Assist Finance teams in developing and delivering new analytical capabilities that help drive investment or business decision making through DA&I; projects.
- Help develop analytical tools and solutions, and self‑service reporting such as Power BI.
- Assist Finance teams with automation of key reporting such as QBR and Audit & Actuarial Committee material.
- Support the OneFinance model to eliminate duplication of analytical efforts and ensure a single source of truth for all stakeholders.
- Proactively provide input on the group’s mandate, team composition and skills, and recommend process improvements.
- Provide insights for critical initiatives for the Finance Data Analytics & Insights group.
- Support and oversee the incorporation of key Finance datasets in the enterprise data dictionary (Collibra), maintaining new datasets.
What you'll need
- Approximately 6+ years of professional experience in investment analysis and/or financial reporting.
- Working knowledge of the pension plan’s business cycles, including trade life cycle, Finance operations, data management and reporting, FP&A;, investment performance, risk, valuations, ESG and financial & management reporting.
- CFA, MBA, CPA, CBV, FRM, or CIPM designation or equivalent international accreditation.
- Financial services industry experience is a must; pension or investment fund experience preferred.
- Experience in project management or special projects, including participation in cross‑functional teams.
- Experience with management reporting and analysis.
- Strong technical knowledge of Business Intelligence solutions & visualization tools such as Power BI, and familiarity with SQL, R, Python, Snowflake.
- Extensive use of MS Office products.
- Creative ability to find opportunities and develop solutions where there may be no precedent.
- Excellent analytical ability, judgment, independent and creative thinking.
