City Vancouver Academy (BC registered Independent high school) is looking for a part-time BC-certified teacher to teach:

- Social Studies GRADE: 10-12

- Career Life Education / Career Life Connections

- Other high school humanities subjects, e.g. History, Human Geography, etc.

Job Details

- 0.5 FTE.
- Medical and dental benefits are offered.
- Class sizes range from 6 to 15 students.

Required qualifications

- BC Teaching Certificate.
- TESL Certificate or ELL teaching experience would be an asset.
- A willingness to work collaboratively with other classroom teachers and administrators.
- Ability to evaluate and report on student progress using Ministry of Education assessment standards and practices.
- An ability to use a variety of teaching and learning strategies that can accommodate the learning needs of all types of learners.




- A proven ability to develop a positive learning environment in the classroom and evidence of solid organization and classroom management skills.
- Desire to continually improve their practice through professional development and curriculum development.
- Familiarity with the new BC curriculum system, i.e. core competencies.
