About the Role We are seeking a strategic and results-driven Superintendent, Construction Services in Central and Southern Ontario to lead multidisciplinary teams in delivering complex capital projects across transmission, distribution, civil, electrical, and environmental domains. This role is pivotal in driving operational excellence, fostering a culture of safety and innovation, and ensuring the successful execution of high-impact infrastructure projects. Key Responsibilities Leadership & Team Development Lead and mentor Area Managers and their teams, fostering a high-performance culture. Promote collaboration across departments and build strong cross‑functional relationships. Champion diversity, equity, and inclusion in the workplace. Project & Construction Management Oversee full project life cycles—from planning and estimating to commissioning and in‑service. Develop and implement constructability strategies to optimize design and execution. Manage unionized labor relations, including grievances and disciplinary matters. Strategic Planning & Execution Contribute to corporate capital delivery strategies and continuous improvement initiatives. Set performance targets and monitor progress to ensure timely, cost‑effective delivery. Drive innovation in project delivery methods and resource optimization. Risk, Safety & Compliance Lead risk management efforts across all project phases. Ensure compliance with safety regulations and promote a strong Internal Responsibility System (IRS).
Develop and implement annual Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) programs. Stakeholder Engagement & Communication Act as a key liaison with internal and external stakeholders, ensuring alignment and transparency. Provide clear direction and context to teams, aligning with corporate goals and policies. Leadership Competencies Strategic Thinking – Aligns team objectives with organizational goals and anticipates future challenges. People Leadership – Builds and develops high‑performing teams through coaching, feedback, and succession planning. Decision‑Making – Makes sound, data‑informed decisions under pressure and in complex environments. Collaboration & Influence – Builds trust and fosters partnerships across functions and levels. Operational Excellence – Continuously improves processes to enhance efficiency, quality, and service delivery. Accountability – Takes ownership of outcomes and drives a culture of responsibility and integrity. Qualifications Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field; P.Eng. designation preferred, however we also encourage skilled trades designated workers with extensive leadership and construction management experience to apply. 10+ years of progressive leadership experience in utility or infrastructure construction. Proven experience managing unionized environments and large‑scale capital projects. Robust knowledge of project management methodologies, safety regulations, and risk management practices.
