It’s a mix of hands-on mechanical work, electrical troubleshooting, and problem-solving—all done in a marine workplace where saltwater, vibration, and weather constantly test equipment.
Skills You Need
- Strong mechanical knowledge of diesel and gasoline engines.
- Understanding of marine electrical and electronic systems.
- Problem-solving skills for complex, hard-to-diagnose faults.
- Ability to work in tight, awkward spaces.
- Attention to detail—marine repairs must be reliable and safe.
