Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Part-Time Behaviour Interventionist/Mentor to provide in-home support for children with behavioral and developmental needs. This role involves working closely with children to promote positive behaviors, develop life skills, and support their overall well-being. The ideal candidate will have a strong interest in working with children, preferably with experience or training in special education or related fields. This position offers an chance to make a meaningful difference in children's lives while gaining valuable experience in behavioral support and patient care.
This summer, we are looking for someone to do 2-hour sessions for a child in Port coquitlam and come September we are hoping that individual will increase their hours to add 7 hours a week to work as an E.A in a child's home in Maple Ridge (both clients are only 15 minute drive apart). Totally 9 hours between both come september. Case loads can increase if the hire would like to increase their hours!
Duties
- Implement individualized behavior intervention plans under supervision, promoting positive behavior strategies
- Provide one-on-one mentorship and support to children within their home environment
- Assist children with daily routines, social skills, and educational activities
- Collect and document data on behavior progress and intervention effectiveness accurately and consistently
- Collaborate with families, therapists, and other team members to ensure cohesive care plans
- Maintain a safe, clean, and supportive environment conducive to learning and development
- Monitor for safety concerns or medical issues during sessions and report appropriately
- Work collaboratively with team consultant supervising client cases
Skills
- Experience working with children, especially those with behavioral or developmental challenges
- Knowledge of special education practices and behavior management techniques
- Strong patient care skills with a compassionate approach to working with children and families
- Proficient in data collection methods to track progress and inform intervention strategies
- Excellent communication skills for collaborating with families, team members, and other professionals
- Reliable, responsible, and adaptable to meet the needs of each child in the home setting
Pay: From $25.00 per hour
