Reports To: Building Systems and Maintenance Manager

Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:00 a.m.–3:30 p.m. (2 paid 15-minute breaks, 1 unpaid lunch)

About the Position

St. Peter's Seminary is seeking a dependable, motivated and detail-oriented Facilities Custodian to help maintain a clean, safe and welcoming environment for priests, seminarians, staff, students, guests and visitors. We are looking for someone who takes pride in their work, enjoys hands-on building support, works independently and notices issues before they become problems.

Key Responsibilities

- Clean classrooms, offices, guest rooms, corridors, washrooms and common areas.
- Sweep, vacuum, mop and maintain all floor surfaces.
- Collect garbage and recycling and replenish supplies.
- Set up and take down rooms for meetings, events and liturgical celebrations.
- Move furniture and equipment safely.
- Assist with seasonal projects and general facilities support.
- Perform minor repairs within your skill level.
- Monitor the condition of the building and promptly report maintenance concerns.
- Maintain custodial storage rooms in an organized manner.
- Work safely while following health and safety procedures.

Qualifications

- Ontario Secondary School Diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum 3 years of custodial, facilities or building maintenance experience.
- Experience performing minor building repairs is a strong asset.
- Valid driver's license is considered an asset.

Physical Requirements

- Occasionally lift up to 45 kg (100 lbs).
- Stand, walk, bend, kneel and climb ladders as required.
- Safely move furniture and equipment.

Hiring Process

Stage 1: Panel interview focusing on experience, work ethic, communication and organizational skills.

Stage 2: Selected candidates will complete a final interview, practical assessment and reference verification before an employment offer is made.
