Executive Vice President of OSP Construction & EngineeringAbout the JobCityside Fiber is seeking a motivated Senior Vice President of OSP Construction & Engineering to join our Operations team. This role is responsible for managing all facets of the OSP project department including fiber engineering, program management, vendor selection and management, as well as internal construction and splicing teams, and plays a key part in deploying our market strategy as it relates to fiber to the premises. Success in this position requires advanced knowledge of OSP networks, construction methodologies for fiber to the home delivery, design, GIS initiatives, and optical technologies, robust organizational abilities, and adaptability in a fast-paced environment.ResponsibilitiesManage and oversee the Director of Project Management, Program Managers and Project Managers to ensure the timely processing of project financial steps, including PORs, POs, and invoicesOversee the Project team handling of budgets and change orders based on contractsDevelop high-level OSP schedule/budget for each opportunity for a deployment phaseDevelop detailed baseline OSP schedule upon project kickoff (using standardized OSP project tools), and maintain this schedule throughout the course of the projectEnsure that project tracker is updated dailyHiring and managing a team that are qualified in OSP construction and managing contractors in the field and fiber engineeringManage all facets of the OSP project department including fiber engineering, program management, vendor selection and management as well as internal construction and splicing teamsDaily and frequent interaction with third party outside plant engineering and construction suppliers, local municipalities, public utilities, product leads, and sales/sales support team membersDeliver projects on time, on budget, within quality and safety standardsQuickly resolve OSP roadblocksEffectively track, report and communicate OSP project progressEnsure construction management teams are executing according to planned project timelinesProvide early communication on potential due date, interval,
and/or budget slips along with corrective actions to the Executive leadership teamEnsure as-built drawings to Fiber Engineering upon completion of construction for each segmentTrack and manage key operating metrics, presenting production metrics on a weekly basisCreate a consistent roadmap for stable service delivery, evaluating new vendor technologies, and ensuring effective cross-functional communication to align with company initiativesParticipate in project meetings at the corporate level and effectively support the overall project effortInterface with senior management on critical projects, customer escalations, and budget reviewsActing as the company liaison, represent corporate interests when interfacing with local, state, and federal governmental agencies in matters affecting the fiber optic networkLearn and develop an understanding of all systems, tools, and processes (i.E., reporting, capacity, and ticketing tools, etc.) that support the workflow of projects and suggest improvementsManage "Trouble Management" reporting, emergency restoration/disaster recovery and general contractor and other vendor related dutiesContribute to a culture of trust, integrity, and collaborationUnderstand and uphold Cityside Fiber's core purpose and values and be passionate about what we doQualificationsBS Engineering related field or Construction Management or equivalent experienceFifteen years technical and management work related experience in the telecommunications industry with emphasis on transmission methods, OSP/ISP, optical networks, project management, and direct customer interfaceTen years' experience with GIS system usage preferredProven expertise in managing large-scale infrastructure projects, specifically in telecommunications and fiber optic construction (FTTH, OSP)Strong background in project management, financials, budgeting, and P&L responsibilitiesProficient with PCs, Microsoft Office Applications (Word, Excel, Project, etc.)Experience in Vetro or similar fiber management toolAdvanced knowledge of OSP networks,
construction methodologies for fiber to the home delivery, design, GIS initiatives, and optical technologiesThe individual will be responsible for the prompt delivery of FTTxStrong communication and collaboration skillsOutstanding critical thinking and decision-making process, the anticipation of risky business situations with deliberate and swift response to sameThe individual must possess outstanding communication skills, written and verbal, as well as strong interpersonal skills as he/she interfaces with subordinates, peers, customers, and vendorsAbility to prioritize tasks and work under pressureSkilled at driving to and presenting production metrics on a weekly basisMust possess a valid driver's license and be insurable under the company insurance policyAbout Cityside FiberCityside Fiber is on a mission to deliver high-quality, reliable internet to communities through innovation and a people-first approach.
