We are currently seeking a Veterinary Assistant to join our hospital team. This position provides hands-on patient support, making it ideal for someone who enjoys variety in their day and takes pride in creating a welcoming experience for both pets and their families to our clinic located in St. Catharines, Ontario.
What You'll Be Doing
As a Veterinary Assistant, you'll play an important role in keeping our hospital running smoothly by:
- Welcoming clients and patients with warmth, professionalism, and compassion
- Coordinating appointments and managing client communications by phone and email
- Maintaining accurate medical records and client information
- Assisting veterinarians and RVTs with patient care, treatments, and examinations
- Supporting diagnostic and treatment procedures as directed by the medical team
- Ensuring treatment, exam, and kennel areas remain clean, organized, and well-stocked
- Providing pet owners with guidance on home care instructions and preventive healthcare recommendations
- Helping create a positive experience for every client and patient who walks through our doors
What We're Looking For
The ideal candidate will bring:
- Previous experience in a veterinary clinic, animal care environment, or customer service role
- A genuine passion for animal health and client care
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities
- The ability to prioritize tasks and adapt in a fast-paced environment
- A collaborative, team-first mindset
- Familiarity with veterinary software, is considered an asset
- Knowledge of veterinary terminology and basic clinical procedures is beneficial but not required
