About the Role
NTWIST is seeking an analytically minded Product Manager to join our Product team in Edmonton. This role is ideal for a mining professional or industry consultant who wants to apply operational expertise toward shaping the future of mining software.

You will work closely with the Senior Product Manager to define what NTWIST builds and why — translating real customer problems into clear product requirements, supporting go-to-market activities, and helping ensure our products deliver measurable value to mining operations. This is a customer-facing, business-oriented role that sits at the intersection of mining domain knowledge and product strategy. It is not an engineering or R&D; position.

Key Responsibilities
Customer & Market Intelligence

Conduct structured discovery interviews with geologists, mine planners, metallurgists, and operations managers to surface unmet needs and validate product direction

Gather and synthesize user feedback from deployed customers to inform the product roadmap

Perform competitive analysis of mining software solutions to identify market positioning opportunities

Contribute to business case development for new product features and initiatives

Requirements & Product Definition

Translate mining operational needs into transparent, structured functional requirements and user stories for the engineering team

Map and document mining workflows to identify process gaps and product opportunities

Support feature prioritization in collaboration with the Senior Product Manager

Participate in UAT to validate that built features meet defined requirements

Contribute to product documentation and release communications

Go-to-Market & Sales Support

Support preparation of product positioning materials including presentations, brochures, and case studies for mining audiences

Assist in demo preparation and delivery alongside the sales team

Participate in industry conferences, webinars, and trade shows to represent NTWIST

Support roadmap communication to internal and external stakeholders

Mine planning, geology, or operations roles with demonstrated interest in technology adoption

Mining Domain Knowledge

Working knowledge of mining operations across gold, copper, iron ore, or oil sands sectors

Familiarity with mine planning workflows (life-of-mine vs. short-term scheduling), geology (resource modeling), and mine operations (stockpile management, material flow, site logistics)

Required Skills
Business Analysis: Demonstrated ability to conduct structured interviews, document requirements, and write functional specifications or user stories

Communication: Ability to translate complex mining workflows into clear product language for both technical and non-technical audiences

Process Mapping: Comfortable documenting end-to-end workflows and identifying process gaps

Excel & Python

Highly proficient for analysis, scenario planning, and reporting

Software Familiarity

Working knowledge of common mining software (e.g. Deswik, Vulcan, Surpac, MinePlan) or enterprise systems (e.g. SAP) used in mining

Nice to Have

Experience presenting to or engaging with senior mining stakeholders

Exposure to product management methodologies (roadmapping, prioritization frameworks, user story writing)

Familiarity with project or delivery management tools

Soft Skills

Structured thinker who can organize ambiguous problems into clear frameworks

Genuinely curious and customer-oriented
