What the job involves We are seeking a Staff Product Designer to join our growing Product Design team
This role is available to candidates across Canada (excluding Quebec) and the US. If you are located near one of our hubs (Burnaby, Calgary, or Toronto), you will be expected to work in the office a minimum of twice per week on our designated Anchor Days

Design plays a pivotal role at Clio, standing alongside Product and Engineering as one of the three pillars of our Research and Development organization
Our product designers work directly with customers to understand their behaviors, needs, and workflows. They champion thoughtful, high-quality experiences as we transform how lawyers and their teams serve their clients. If you’re focused on shipping value to customers with an opportunity to revolutionize an industry, you’ve found your next team
The Platform team is a high-impact group building the shared foundations that power Clio. We tackle some of the most complex, systems-level problems — creating centralized tools for customers and reusable frameworks for product teams — so the rest of the organization can move faster with confidence
Right now, that includes building world-class search experiences powered by AI, and the foundational patterns that make intelligence work across the product
As a Staff Product Designer, you’ll lead strategy and end-to-end experience design for AI Search and be a key driver of how we design AI experiences across all of Clio
You’ll lead strategy and end-to-end experience design across a complex product area — from discovery and opportunity framing through launch and iteration
You’ll partner closely with Product and Engineering leaders to set vision, raise the quality bar, and elevate other designers, including shaping AI experiences that are trustworthy, explainable, and appropriately controlled
Own end-to-end experience design for AI Search, from discovery and opportunity framing through prototyping, validation, and high-quality execution
Define the interaction models, patterns, and guardrails for AI experiences across Clio, establishing the foundational design language that product teams build on

Build deep customer intuition and systems understanding, translating complex workflows and constraints into clear direction and durable experience decisions
Shape a compelling long-term experience vision for your problem space, bringing others along through storytelling and collaborative thinking
Raise the quality bar across a broader product ecosystem through cohesive, accessible, and scalable experiences that push beyond “good enough.”
Drive consistency and leverage across teams by strengthening patterns, frameworks, and design system evolution beyond your immediate scope
Help teams navigate ambiguity and make strong decisions through facilitation, decision framing, and proactive cross-functional collaboration
Mentor and elevate other designers through constructive critique, coaching, and role-modelling strategic thinking and bar-raising craft
Partner with the product design manager of your portfolio to uphold the quality and craft of design in your product area
Contribute to design culture and org-wide initiatives through Staff-level forums and leadership beyond your immediate portfolio
Benefits Specialized learning and development programs and access to an in-house performance coach
Equitable compensation for your contributions, regardless of gender, race, or any other identifying factor
Access to pay transparency on all of our global roles
Company equity for applicable employees
RRSP-matching in Canada, 401k in the US, and pension plans in Ireland
Hybrid model – striking the right balance between the benefits of in person connectivity that in office brings, and the flexibility of remote
Flexible paid time off (4-week minimum with opportunities for personalization based on individual needs and achievements)
Parental leave options for birthing and non-birthing parents
A $500 contribution to your child’s RESP
Various health, dental, and vision benefits for you and your family, including an Employee and Family Assistance Program
Virtual and In-person Wellness Programs to support mental and physical health
Paid time for volunteering through our Clio Gives program
$2000 annual counseling benefit for CAD Clions
