Project Controls Specialist

Gas Liquids Engineering (GLE) is a well-established, privately-owned engineering firm providing EPCM services to the energy industry, including project management, engineering, drafting and design, procurement, construction management and regulatory services.

We are seeking a Project Controls Specialist to join our team and contribute to a wide range of innovative projects, including natural gas, oil, fractionation, carbon sequestration, hydrogen generation, power generation, and transmission.

As a member of our project controls team your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

- Develop and maintain project work breakdown structures, ensuring cost estimates, budgets, and schedules align with project requirements.
- Lead integrated EPC planning, engineering, and construction scheduling (Levels 1–3), as well as cost control for total installed cost.
- Monitor and analyze schedule status across all project stages, including critical path and float analysis, support schedule recovery and scenario planning.
- Manage resource planning, progress tracking, and performance/earned value reporting.
- Provide cost control support for budgeting, estimating, and progress reporting.
- Conduct variance analysis and manage change orders, including logs and approvals.
- Participate in internal and external project meetings, delivering updates on deliverables, costs, and forecasts.
- Assist project managers with schedule/cost analysis, forecasting, and budgeting.
- Monitor and report on third-party progress.




- Collaborate with Project Managers and Business Development on project proposals.

Requirements:

- Minimum 8+ years of project controls experience in the Oil & Gas industry.
- Post-secondary certification or equivalent hands-on experience.
- Familiarity with AACEI best practices and the PMBOK Guide for cost estimates, schedule classifications, and design maturity.
- Proficiency with Primavera P6 and Microsoft Project.
- Strong analytical skills: ability to identify discrepancies, flag risks, and resolve issues.
- Knowledge of contractual terms and progress payments.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication, with effective negotiation skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks with accuracy and attention to detail.
- Flexible and adaptable in a rapid-paced setting.

Pay is commensurate with experience.
