About the Job
We are hiring a Junior Quantity Surveyor to step into a new role in our Contracts and QS team on the Hazel McCallion LRT project. This position reports to the Manager - Subcontracts and Quantity Survey.
What You Will Be Doing?
Assist in the administration and certification of subcontractor and supplier payment applications or progress claims.
Review and verify labor timesheets, Daily work reports, attendance reports, and supporting documentation prior to payment certificate.
Review, reconcile, and validate equipment utilization reports, field records, and partner/ supplier invoices.
Create monthly accrual cost and payment certificate records in STR Vision and export to SAP.
Monitor and track project costs by assigning, reviewing, and validating cost codes against work activities as reported by site team.
Prepare and maintain cost tracking spreadsheets, commercial logs, accrual reports, and monthly reconciliation reports.
Verify quantities, rates,
and completed work against contracts, site records, daily work reports, and project documentation.
Liaise with subcontractors, suppliers, cost control, construction teams, procurement, and finance departments to resolve payment certificate-related discrepancies.
Monitor and track the status of payment certificates and follow up with approvers to ensure timely review, approval, and payment processing.
Provide support for quantity surveying activities as required by the project team.
What We Are Looking For?
Minimum of 3-5 plus years’ experience working for a contractor as a Quantity Surveyor or a Quantity Survey Coordinator/ Administrator.
Bachelor’s Degree engineering.
Familiar with construction projects.
Core skills:
Experience with estimating, budgeting, and planning.
Highly developed interpersonal skills to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
Ability to complete written reports and electronic communications expeditiously and with a high degree of accuracy and professionalism.
Computer proficiency with a strong knowledge of PCs and software applications related to the work.
A self-starter with strong organizational skills and the ability to take initiative.
Strong analytical and quantitative skills are a must.
Available for occasional overtime work.
Well organized, versatile, detail oriented and multi-tasked.
Proficient in the English language (speaking, written and reading).
Expected Compensation
Successful candidates chosen for this position can expect to earn between $75,000.00 CAD - $85,000.00 CAD.
The exact salary you will earn within this range is dependant on the specific project to which you are assigned.
