Join SGS as a Senior Assayer, working full time with a rotating schedule at the Blackwater Mine. This role focuses on coordination, supervision, and quality assurance in assay reporting.
In this position, you will oversee the scheduling of incoming samples and manage the workflow in the laboratory, ensuring timely results for clients. Your responsibilities include maintaining client relationships, leading a team, and ensuring the highest quality standards in assay data. You'll create reports, conduct health and safety meetings, and support ongoing performance evaluations of your crew.
Key Responsibilities:
• Schedule and coordinate incoming samples from the mine site
• Supervise and monitor laboratory staff performance
• Approve and report assay results to mine departments
• Facilitate meetings with client metallurgists and geologists
• Ensure compliance with health and safety standards
Requirements:
• College diploma or university degree in chemistry or related field
• 5-10 years of experience in wet/fire assay
• 1-3 years of supervisory experience
• BC Registered Assayer Certification preferred
• Proficiency in lab software and excellent communication skills
