Position Senior Lead Hand
Division Logistics
Reports to Delivery & Installation Manager
Summary McCrum’s Senior Lead Hand is the most experience leader indeliver and Installation team and is responsible for ensuring projects areinstalled safely, efficiently and to company quality standards. The Senior leaddelivers the ultimate client experience through strong leadership, coaching andtraining of Installers and technical guidance to lead hands and Installerswhile serving as the primary field resource for complex installations,training, quality control, and problem-solving. This position directs largeteams of installers for installations to ensure timely completion, high qualityof service and cost-effective management of labour and installation resources.This position represents McCrum’s and as a liaison to employees on the project.The Senior Lead Hand functions and works under the direction of, and mayrepresent, the Project Manager on projects.
Key Tasks and Responsibilities Lead and oversee complex furniture and interior installationprojects
Coach Mentor, and develop Lead hands and installers, throughhands-on training and field support.
Accountable as site representative, to resolve projectissues with client, provide quality assurance and deliver exceptional customerservice
Act as Liaison between field crews, operations, projectmanagement, and clients as required.
Ensure Installations meet manufacturer specification,company standards and client expectations.
Conduct site visits, quality expectations, field assessmentsto identify deficiencies and corrective actions.




Assist troubleshooting installation challenges, productissues, and site conditions.
Support workforce planning by providing feedback on employeeperformance, training needs, and skill development.
Effective communication with client to describe work plan,respond to inquiries and concerns as well as advise if any difficulties arise
Monitor workmanship productivity, professionalism, customerservice standards across installation teams
Assist in the development and continuous improvement ofinstallation procedures, training materials, and best practices.
Provide supervision for employees with consultation andapproval of D&I; Manager or Operations Manager
Complete all required paperwork related to installation lifecycle
Delivery & Installation Work with lead installers to achieve high qualityinstallation following manufacturers’ specifications and blueprints, loadingand unloading and site cleanup
Ensure lead hands resolve minor repairs on site as necessary
Maintain detailed and complete administrative records ofinstallation project work
Mentor Lead hands in communicating and documenting projectstatus, problems and punch-list to dispatch, sales personnel and sales support,and to project management personnel as needed




Health & Safety Oversee leads and installers follow all applicable Health& Safety policies
Ensure leads work area is kept tidy and clear of debris
Monitor effective use of tools, lifting, no horseplay,etc.
Provide guidance and the appropriate forms in the event of aworkplace injury in support of the health and safety administrator
Qualifications Extensive experience in commercial furniture or similar workof interior installations.
Solid leadership, coaching, and communication skills.
Excellent verbal and written skills to mentor and motivateteam, as well as to maintain accuracy and quality of company standards
Advanced knowledge and working experience of installationmethods, site coordination, material handling, and quality control. In asimilar industry transferrable to this position
A commitment to excellence in maintaining accuracy,attention to detail and meeting established deadlines
Ability to maintain a high level of professionalism at alltimes in order to maintain customer confidence while effectively dealing withcomplex issues
The ability to solve practical problems and deal with avariety of variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
Ability to read installation drawings, manufacturerspecifications, and project documentation.
Solid knowledge of the use of hand tools required
A valid Class 5 Alberta Driver’s License is required
The ability to lift and manipulate heavy objects (in excessof 40lbs) in tight or awkward spaces is required
Previous experience in a leadership role is an asset
