Position Overview Join Munich Re’s Corporate Actuarial team to accelerate your actuarial career through mastery of reinsurance valuation and reporting methods. You will develop and use leading-edge models designed for analysis and reporting for the Life & Health Reinsurance business in Canada and US. You will regularly work with other actuarial teams such as Pricing, Accounting, Biometric Research and ERM, while deepening your expertise and exposure to LICAT, IFRS17, and various assignments and projects.

Your Role Lead and coordinate the preparation and review of IFRS reserves, OSFI regulatory exhibits, and LIMAT returns with a high level of accuracy and analytical depth
Support the development and review of materials for senior management by ensuring accuracy of financial figures and clarity in the explanation of results and key drivers
Communicate and present valuation results and key considerations to internal stakeholders, with potential exposure to senior management teams under the CFO
Oversee and contribute to the maintenance and enhancement of financial reporting systems and processes to accommodate new treaties, regulatory changes, and efficiency improvements
Manage and review analyses supporting LIMAT reporting, Financial Condition Testing (FCT), business planning, Solvency II reporting, and Value of New Business (VNB) assessments
Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) to ensure alignment and support across business functions
Support the model and assumption change process, which includes monitoring our biometric assumption experience and proposing changes in the valuation assumptions as needed.
Ensure a clear understanding of corporate and departmental objectives while providing guidance, training and mentorship to junior employees.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams such as Pricing, Accounting, Reinsurance Operations,
and Biometric Research.
Your Profile University Degree in Actuarial Science, Finance, Statistics, or Mathematics.
FSA/FCIA qualification
Prior experience in the Life and Health insurance/reinsurance industry.
Advanced proficiency in Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
Experience with AXIS and Datalink; SQL
Strong analytical and financial modeling skills, with the ability to manage complex calculations.
Superior attention to detail and accuracy.
Strong problem solving and organization skills.
Excellent communication skills as demonstrated in general conversation, clear, complete responses to internal and external clients, formal presentations and written documents.
Ability to establish and maintain good working relationships with other departments.
Demonstrated flexibility and effectiveness working under tight timelines.
Demonstrated ability to adapt in a dynamic environment

Compensation Our base salary range for this role is between $138,000 and $184,000 per year, plus an opportunity for an annual company bonus based upon a percentage of eligible pay. The salary estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for candidates hired in this position. Factors that may be used to determine your actual salary include your specific skills, how many years of experience you have and comparison to internal equity.
