Role Summary
We are seeking a Senior Accountant to join our team in Ottawa! The Senior Accountant, Corporate Finance supports key corporate finance activities including financial reporting, technical accounting, tax compliance, for our diverse portfolio of non-construction entities across the Up-to-date Niagara group of companies. This role partners closely with finance leadership to ensure accurate reporting, strong financial controls, and timely insights. Success in this role means delivering reliable financial information, supporting business decisions, and continuously improving finance processes.

Role Summary
We are seeking a Senior Accountant to join our team in Ottawa! The Senior Accountant, Corporate Finance supports key corporate finance activities including financial reporting, technical accounting, tax compliance, for our diverse portfolio of non-construction entities across the Modern Niagara group of companies. This role partners closely with finance leadership to ensure accurate reporting, strong financial controls, and timely insights. Success in this role means delivering reliable financial information, supporting business decisions, and continuously improving finance processes.

The Senior Accountant supports financial reporting and forecasting activities that enable leadership to make informed decisions and ensure the non-construction entities operate efficiently and responsibly.

Key Impact / Purpose

Deliver accurate and timely financial reporting, and month-end close processes

Support budgeting, forecasting, and KPI tracking to enable data-driven decision-making

Strengthen financial processes, controls, and compliance across non-construction corporate entities

Duties and Responsibilities:

Execute full-cycle accounting and financial close activities, including journal entries, reconciliations, and general ledger maintenance

Support budgeting and forecasting for non-construction entities,



including variance analysis and cost tracking

Research and support the application of technical accounting standards

Support tax compliance activities, including sales tax filings and tax provisions

Provide support during year-end audits, including responding to auditor requests

Must haves:

4+ years of progressive full-cycle accounting experience in a corporate, multi-entity, or public accounting environment

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field

Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail

Advanced proficiency in Excel and experience working with ERP systems

Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate across teams

Nice to haves:

CPA designation (completed or in progress)

Expected annual compensation; $74,000 - $88,000.
