Role Description The Full-Time Pharmacist role at Shoppers Drug Mart in St Thomas, ON is an in office position responsible for providing safe, accurate, and patient-centered pharmacy services. Day-to-day tasks include dispensing prescriptions, verifying medication orders, counseling patients on proper medication use, potential side effects, and health management, and collaborating with prescribers to optimize therapy. The Pharmacist will manage medication reviews, support chronic disease management programs, and ensure compliance with regulatory and company standards. Additional responsibilities include supervising and mentoring pharmacy team members,



maintaining accurate documentation, managing inventory, and contributing to a positive, inclusive, and efficient pharmacy environment focused on outstanding customer care.
Qualifications
Licensed or eligible for licensure as a Pharmacist in Ontario, with a degree in Pharmacy from an accredited institution.
Strong clinical knowledge in pharmacotherapy, prescription verification, and patient counseling, with a commitment to safe dispensing practices.
Proficiency in pharmacy management systems, prescription processing software, and basic computer applications used in a retail pharmacy setting.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to support patient education, collaborate with healthcare professionals, and work effectively within a diverse team.
Demonstrated organizational and time-management abilities, including attention to detail, accurate record-keeping, and efficient workflow management.
Customer-service orientation with a focus on empathy, confidentiality, and respectful care for patients from all backgrounds.
Knowledge of relevant pharmacy legislation, third-party billing, and professional standards of practice in Ontario.
Previous experience in a community or retail pharmacy environment is an asset; willingness to participate in ongoing professional development and training.
