The Senior Specialist, Competitive Intelligence is responsible for collecting, analyzing and translating competitive and market intelligence into clear, actionable insights that strengthen the firm’s competitive position. The role supports sharper market positioning and more informed strategic planning across the firm. Working closely with the Business Development, Marketing and Practice leaders, the Senior Specialist serves as a trusted adviser, providing timely intelligence and perspective to help the firm win work, anticipate competitor moves and identify emerging opportunities and risks. Success in this role is measured by the relevance, quality and adoption of insights by senior stakeholders. Key Responsibilities Competitive and Market Analysis Monitor competitors’ offerings, pricing signals, lateral hires, thought leadership and market positioning Analyze RFPs, pitches, win/loss outcomes and client feedback for competitive patterns and implications Track industry trends, client priorities and emerging threats/opportunities affecting the firm Insight Development and Synthesis Translate raw data into clear insights, implications and recommendations Develop competitor profiles, battlecards, market briefs and executive summaries Identify white-space opportunities, areas of competitive risk and points of differentiation Business Development and Strategy Support Partner with Business Development,



Marketing and Practice leaders to support major pursuits and go-to-market initiatives Provide rapid-response intelligence for time-sensitive opportunities and priority decisions Support go/no-go decisions and competitive positioning through evidence-based analysis Proactive Intelligence and Early Warning Operate as an early-warning function by identifying signals of market shifts or competitor activity Proactively surface insights before they are requested, helping leadership anticipate change rather than react to it Knowledge Management, Ethics and Tools Leverage firm CRM (e.G., InterAction), Foundation (experience database) and BI tools (e.G., Power BI/Excel Power Query) to produce dashboards and executive‑ready visuals Establish and refine CI methodologies, templates and standards to ensure consistency and quality Ensure intelligence is current, credible and actionable Conduct CI in accordance with firm policies and confidentiality obligations; no misrepresentation orpretexting Stakeholder Advisory and Collaboration Act as a trusted adviser to senior stakeholders on competitive positioning and market developments Influence decision-making through insight, judgment and explicit storytelling without formal authority Collaborate with Pricing, Library,



Knowledge Management and Finance to integrate data sources and validate insights Train or guide colleagues on how to effectively interpret and apply competitive intelligence What Success Looks Like Embedded early in decisions: CI is involved upfront in pursuits and positioning; insights shape strategyFewer surprises: Leadership gets timely alerts and context; major competitor moves are anticipated Executive-ready deliverables: Competitor profiles and briefs are concise, visual and tailored; easy to find and trust Seamless collaboration: CI works closely with Business Development, Marketing, Pricing, Library and Knowledge Management; simple intake andpredictable updates Qualifications And Experience 6–10+ years in competitive intelligence, market research, strategy or business development Strong analytical and synthesis skills with the ability to distill complex information into clear narratives Proven experience supporting senior leaders under tight timelines Deep understanding of professional services or regulated industries High level of judgment, discretion and comfort operating in ambiguous environments The expected starting salary range for this role is $ $85,000–$90,000.
