Role Description The Pipefitter role at FMP Group LP is a full-time, in office position located in the Greater Edmonton Metropolitan Area. Day-to-day responsibilities include installing, assembling, and maintaining piping systems for industrial and construction projects, following technical drawings, specifications, and safety standards. Pipefitters will measure, cut, thread, bend, and fit pipes, perform welding tasks as required, and collaborate with other trades to support shutdowns, turnarounds, and maintenance programs.
The role involves inspecting systems for leaks or defects, performing pressure tests, and documenting work completed in accordance with company quality and safety procedures. Pipefitters are expected to work in varying site conditions, use appropriate personal protective equipment, and contribute to a culture of safety and continuous improvement.
Qualifications
Strong pipe and pipefitting skills, including measuring, cutting, threading, and installing industrial piping systems.
Proficiency in welding techniques, with experience in TIG welding for high-quality, precise welds.
Experience working with steam systems and related high-pressure piping installations and maintenance.
Relevant trade certification or journeyperson status in pipefitting (or equivalent combination of training and experience).
Demonstrated commitment to safety, including adherence to company and regulatory safety procedures and use of PPE.
Ability to interpret technical drawings, P&IDs;, and specifications, and to work effectively in industrial and construction environments.
Good physical stamina, manual dexterity, and ability to work in confined spaces, at heights, and in varying weather conditions.
Strong teamwork and communication skills, with reliability and willingness to support overtime, shutdowns, and turnaround schedules as needed.
