About the job In this role, you will:
work with Ministry colleagues to lead components or assist in the development of priority provincial fisheries policy;
provide sound technical and biological advice in the review and development of policy and program initiatives;
conduct research and jurisdictional scans to support policy development;
assist with the planning of fisheries consultation, meetings and workshops.
What you bring to the team Technical skills:



You have knowledge of fisheries biology and fisheries management to provide sound advice and input into fisheries related policy.
You have the ability to develop, interpret and/or apply fisheries related policy/legislation to support the development of policy.
Communication skills: You have proven oral and written communication skills to participate in ministry meetings; and to prepare technical reports and presentations, briefings and other communication materials.
Analytical skills: You have demonstrated analytical skills to review and synthesize technical information.
Organizational skills: You have demonstrated organizational skills to assist with planning and delivery of meetings and workshops and manage multiple projects at the same time.
Computer skills: You are proficient with personal computers and software including email, word processing, spreadsheets and databases, to prepare communication materials and manage fishing regulation information.
