The Role:
Deliver secure, reliable cloud solutions across Azure, AWS, and GCP. Build and evolve cloud platforms using Infrastructure as Code (Terraform) and automated delivery practices, implementing architect-defined designs as well‑formed backlog items. Partner with engineering, security, and platform teams to deliver scalable, compliant services and provide L3 engineering support through root-cause analysis and backlog-driven remediation.
Area of Responsibility:
Maintain Daily/Weekly visibility and progress with Engineering team(s) of tasks and project deliverables
Manage cloud delivery work in Jira (epics/stories/tasks) with clear acceptance criteria and Definition of Done
Provide L3 engineering support by triaging escalations, completing root-cause analysis, and driving corrective work through the backlog (coordinate via ServiceNow as needed)
Surface blockers, risks, and dependencies (network, identity, security, platform services) and coordinate resolution
Communicate delivery status through Scrum ceremonies and lightweight Jira reporting
Sequence deliverables to balance roadmap work, security remediation, and technical debt
Deliver cloud infrastructure changes using Terraform/IaC, including peer review and controlled deployments
Maintain engineering visibility into platform health and release readiness (monitoring signals, change windows, rollback plans)
Support cloud CI/CD automation (e.g., GitHub Actions) by diagnosing failures and implementing fixes
Remediate cloud governance and security findings (policy violations, misconfigurations) through backlog work
Receive and manage intake demand for Engineering teams:
Accept work primarily via Cloud Architect handoff; confirm scope, assumptions, and prerequisites
Maintain a groomed Jira backlog with Definition of Ready, acceptance criteria, and links to architecture decisions
Document dependencies (network, identity, security, application teams) and track prerequisites in Jira
Support sprint planning by confirming capacity and sequencing work based on architect priorities
Provide estimates, risks, and assumptions to support architect‑led roadmaps and release planning
Coordinate cross‑team dependencies and handoffs to unblock delivery
Keep architects, leads, and partners informed on progress, risks, and delivery dates
Identify resource constraints and conflicts early and propose mitigation options
Contribute improvements to shared IaC modules, templates, and delivery pipelines
Share lessons learned and propose standards (naming/tagging, security defaults, reusable patterns)
Qualifications:
Post‑secondary diploma/degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience)
Must have 3-5 years of hands‑on engineering experience delivering solutions in at least one major cloud (Azure, AWS, or GCP); multi‑cloud exposure is an asset
Strong understanding of cloud security fundamentals (IAM/RBAC, least privilege, encryption, secrets management) and secure‑by‑default patterns
Proven expertise with Infrastructure as Code using Terraform (modules, state management, code review practices)
Experience building and supporting CI/CD automation for infrastructure and cloud services (e.g., GitHub Actions), including testing and promotion between environments
Proficiency in at least one scripting/programming language (Python, Go, PowerShell, or Bash) for automation, integration, and troubleshooting
Able to take architect‑defined requirements and deliver high‑quality implementations with minimal rework
Quality‑first approach: peer review, automation/testing where applicable, and clear documentation (runbooks/change notes)
Continuous learning mindset to stay current on cloud services, patterns, and tooling
Experience in a technology delivery environment where funds/resources/time constraints create challenges to be balanced
Clear technical communication (design notes, runbooks, and change documentation)
Ability to communicate status, risks, and tradeoffs concisely in writing (Jira updates, short summaries)
Team-oriented working style with engineers, architects, security, and platform partners
Relevant cloud certifications (e.g., Azure Administrator/Architect, AWS Solutions Architect,
or Google Professional Cloud Architect)
Nice to Have Experience:
Experience with GitOps and modern version‑control workflows (pull requests, branching strategies, code reviews)
Knowledge of cloud cost management and governance practices (tagging standards, policy‑as‑code, chargeback/showback concepts)
Familiarity with containers and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes) and/or cloud observability tooling (logging, metrics, tracing)
The expected annual base salary range for this role is $105,000 -$120,000 which is determined based on skills, knowledge and experience and geographic location. In addition to base salary, this role is eligible for annual short‑term incentive, health and well‑being benefits, retirement and savings plan, paid time off and career development.
