As Vanguard embarks on a journey to enhance its AI capabilities, the Director will spearhead the operationalization of advanced AI research into scalable solutions. With a strong focus on multidisciplinary collaboration, you will oversee teams of machine learning engineers and AI researchers, driving innovations across areas including Generative AI and cognitive architectures. Your leadership will be essential in merging strategic vision with practical execution to achieve transformative outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:
• Define and execute Vanguard’s Applied AI R&D; strategy
• Drive innovation in foundation models and agentic AI




• Develop architectures for reasoning and adaptive decision-making
• Establish methodologies for secure and trustworthy AI systems
• Partner with business and product teams for AI adoption

Requirements:
• PhD or Master’s in a relevant discipline
• 7+ years leading AI or ML teams
• Expertise in large language models and AI applications
• Strong communication skills influencing senior leadership
• Hands-on experience with modern ML frameworks
