Location : Greater Toronto Area, ON (Largely Remote – occasional in-person meetings in Markham/Etobicoke) Rate : $65-80/hr Industry : Software / Technology (Vertical Market / B2B) Position Type : New Role About the Opportunity Our client is looking for an experienced FP&A Consultant to help navigate a particularly busy period that includes a major ERP implementation, a quarterly forecasting cycle, and robust growth across multiple businesses. Reporting into the Group Controller (with close exposure to the VP Finance and a portfolio business leader), you will support a portfolio of approximately seven decentralized operating companies. This engagement is ideal for a hands‑on finance leader who is comfortable moving between strategic planning and detailed analysis. You’ll partner directly with company presidents and their leadership teams, shaping five‑year forecasts, modeling strategic options, and providing insight on performance versus plan. While the team is highly capable, they are stretched with a system migration and audit, so you’ll be stepping into a role where your impact will be immediate and visible. The work is primarily remote with periodic in‑person working sessions in the GTA to collaborate on priorities and decisions. Key Responsibilities Lead the quarterly forecasting process for a portfolio of ~7 businesses, with a focus on the upcoming Q1 forecast refresh and full five‑year outlook. Partner with company presidents and their executive teams to review business assumptions, assess changes versus prior plans, and update forecasts accordingly. Build and refine financial models in Excel to evaluate different strategic options for certain businesses (e.G., 2–3 scenarios with sensitivities and impact analysis). Consolidate inputs from the portfolio companies into a cohesive view for the group,



supporting reporting to senior leadership. Provide value‑added analysis and commentary on performance versus budget/forecast and prior periods. Support month‑end close activities as needed (e.G., account reconciliations, variance analysis, reasonability checks on results). Assist in explaining results and forecast changes to non‑finance leaders, acting as a finance business partner to operations and presidents. Serve as an additional “pair of hands” for the finance team during a busy period that includes a Dynamics 365 F&O implementation, UAT, and end‑user training (indirect support via backfilling team capacity). Help ensure data integrity and consistency between offline Excel‑based models and the consolidation/reporting environment. Ramp up quickly on the client’s portfolio structure, key drivers, and financial processes to be productive by mid‑February through April. What You Bring Proven experience in FP&A roles with strong exposure to both forecasting and management reporting. Background that spans both FP&A and financial reporting/accounting (e.G., experience as a Controller, Finance Manager, or similar hybrid role). Advanced Excel skills including multi‑scenario modeling, sensitivity analysis, and financial model design. Experience working closely with business leaders (presidents, GMs, or senior operations leaders) in a decentralized or multi‑entity environment.



Comfort supporting quarterly forecast cycles and multi‑year (e.G., five‑year) planning. Strong analytical mindset with the ability to translate numbers into clear, actionable insights and commentary. Ability to navigate ambiguity and adapt your approach across businesses with varying levels of financial sophistication. Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, including the ability to work with non‑finance leaders. Capacity to ramp up quickly and operate independently with minimal handholding in a fast‑paced environment. Availability to start in mid‑February for an initial three‑month contract, with flexibility for occasional in‑person meetings in the GTA (Markham/Etobicoke).
