Position Overview:
The Hydrovac Operator is responsible for the safe and productive operation of vacuum and hydrovac trucks used in industrial, commercial, and municipal cleaning and excavation projects. This role involves the transportation and handling of hazardous and non-hazardous liquid waste materials, as well as performing hydro excavation, tank cleaning, and site remediation. The operator ensures compliance with environmental, health, and safety standards while delivering high-quality service to E360S clients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate vacuum trucks, combo units, and hydrovac equipment for the collection, transportation, and disposal of waste materials.
- Conduct hydro excavation and daylighting operations to safely expose underground utilities and pipelines.
- Perform tank cleaning, catch basin cleaning, and industrial maintenance services as assigned.
- Safely load, transport, and unload both hazardous and non-hazardous liquid waste in accordance with TDG (Transportation of Dangerous Goods) regulations.
- Complete pre-trip and post-trip inspections, routine maintenance checks, and report any mechanical or safety issues.
- Maintain accurate and legible paperwork, including manifests, work orders,
and driver logs.
- Ensure compliance with all E360S safety policies, environmental procedures, and client site-specific requirements.
- Work effectively as part of a team, supporting site supervisors, field technicians, and dispatch.
- Provide professional customer service while representing E360S on client job sites.
Qualifications:
- Valid DZ driver’s license with a clean driver’s abstract.
- Minimum of 2–5 years of experience operating vacuum trucks and/or hydrovac equipment.
- TDG (Transportation of Dangerous Goods) and First Aid/CPR certifications required (or willingness to obtain).
- Confined Space Entry, H2S Alive, and WHMIS certifications are strong assets.
- Knowledge of industrial cleaning, hydro excavation, and waste management practices.
- Must be able to successfully complete pre-employment screening, including drug and alcohol testing.
- Ability to lift 50+ lbs, work outdoors in various weather conditions, and perform physically demanding tasks.
- Strong commitment to safety, professionalism, and customer service.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as required by project schedules.
