ASI Tech Ltd. is looking for an experienced Underground Utilities Labourer / Equipment Operator to join our growing team.

We specialize in fiber optic infrastructure, underground utilities, civil construction, HDD, and hydrovac services throughout Alberta. We are looking for individuals with experience in underground utility construction who take pride in quality workmanship and working safely.

Job Summary

The successful candidate will assist with the installation of underground utility infrastructure, including communication conduits, power ducts, and fiber optic cables. This position involves open trench excavation, conduit installation, cable placement, backfilling, and operating construction equipment to support civil construction projects.

Responsibilities

- Perform open trench excavation for underground utility installations.
- Install PVC, HDPE, and communication conduits.
- Assist with underground cable placement and utility installations.
- Install vaults, handholes, duct banks, and service conduits.
- Perform proper bedding, backfilling, and compaction.
- Safely expose and work around existing underground utilities.
- Load, secure,



and transport construction equipment using trailers.
- Operate excavators, skid steers, and other construction equipment safely and efficiently.
- Complete daily equipment inspections and basic maintenance.
- Read utility locates, construction drawings, and site layouts.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work setting.
- Follow all company safety policies and industry regulations.

Qualifications

- Minimum 2 years of underground utility or civil construction experience.
- Experience with open trench utility construction.
- Experience installing underground conduits and communication infrastructure.
- Experience working around existing utilities.
- Experience operating excavators and skid steers.
- Must be capable of loading, securing, towing, and unloading equipment trailers safely.
- Valid Class 5 Driver's License (Class 3 is considered an asset).
- CSTS, Ground Disturbance, First Aid, and equipment certifications are considered assets.
- Strong work ethic, reliability, and commitment to safety.

Pay: $24.00-$35.00 per hour
