Summarized Position Responsibilities:
The Parks Operator I – Seasonal (Winter) position involves performing entry-level tasks related to maintaining and operating CWK infrastructure. Responsibilities include road maintenance (such as snow removal), garbage collection, graffiti removal, as well as custodial and cleaning duties of park washrooms. The role requires training on power tools and the Operator must have the ability to complete manual labour. The operator also assists with traffic control, follows safety protocols,



handles materials (e.g., cleaning supplies and ice melters), and supports new team members.
The work schedule for this position is 40hrs/week Tuesday – Saturday.
Our Ideal Candidate:
Grade 12 education or equivalent
Minimum of 1 year of experience working in general construction, horticulture related work, equipment operation or similar
Basic First Aid
WHMIS 2015
Class 5 BC Driver’s License (Heavy Trailer Endorsement considered an asset)
Completion of an 8-hour WorkSafeBC recognized course in the safe operation of chainsaws (asset)
Swiftwater Rescue Awareness (asset)
Sharps Collection and Disposal (asset)
Aerial Lift (asset)
Traffic Control (asset)
The role requires experience with various equipment, good physical fitness, knowledge of safety procedures, and the ability to work independently or in a team. Strong communication skills, flexibility for shift work, and emergency callouts are also necessary. This position is funded for 8 months working from September to May annually.
