Torus Talent is seeking a Financial Analyst with experience supporting an e-commerce, retail, or consumer products business on behalf of our rapidly growing Vancouver-based client. This role will work closely with Finance, Marketing, Sales, and Operations to improve financial visibility, evaluate business performance, and provide data-driven recommendations that support profitable growth.
The successful candidate will combine traditional financial planning and analysis with marketing and commercial analytics. They will use tools such as NetSuite, Polar Analytics, Shopify, Amazon, Excel, and other reporting platforms to develop forecasts, assess performance, build dashboards, and translate complex data into practical insights for management.
Key Responsibilitie sSupport the annual budgeting process, rolling forecasts, cash flow projections, and longer-term financial planning
.Develop financial models to evaluate strategic initiatives, pricing decisions, investment opportunities, and business scenarios
.Analyze revenue, gross margin, operating expenses, profitability, and cash flow performance against budgets and forecasts
.Identify emerging trends, financial risks, performance gaps, and opportunities for improvement
.Prepare monthly management reporting packages, KPI scorecards, dashboards, and executive-level financial summaries
.Provide recommendations that improve profitability, resource allocation, and operational efficiency
.Support business planning through sensitivity analysis, scenario modelling, and financial business cases

Preferred Expe rienceExperience in financial planning and analysis within an e-commerce, retail, consumer products, or subscription-based bus
iness.Strong experience with budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and financial mode
lling.Exposure to marketing analytics, customer acquisition economics, and digital-channel performance measur
ement.Experience analyzing Shopify, Amazon, subscription, or other online sales cha
nnels.Familiarity with metrics such as CAC, LTV, ROMI, contribution margin, retention, churn, and cohort perfor
mance.Experience creating management dashboards and KPI reporting using Polar Analytics, Power BI, Tableau, or similar business intelligence plat
forms.Strong Excel skills and experience working with large datasets from multiple so
urces.Experience with an ERP platform, ideally Net
Suite.Ability to communicate financial and operational insights to non-finance stakeho
lders.Previous experience in a fast-growing or rapidly scaling organiz
