Full time Opportunity | On-site in Vancouver, BC | Salary: $100,000–$115,000/annum | Must hold a valid Canadian Work Visa

Our client, a leading global maritime transportation and ship management organization, is seeking a Cloud Data Administrator to join its growing Data Operations team.

This role is responsible for administering and supporting an enterprise Azure-based data platform with a focus on Azure Databricks, Azure Data Factory (ADF), Delta Lake, and Unity Catalog. The successful candidate will combine expertise in cloud data platforms, data engineering, and platform administration to ensure reliable, secure, and scalable data operations that support enterprise analytics and business intelligence initiatives.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced cloud data professional who enjoys working across platform administration, data engineering, automation, governance, and stakeholder collaboration within a modern Azure ecosystem.

Responsibilities

Administer and support Azure-based data platforms, ensuring the availability, reliability, and performance of enterprise data services

Configure, schedule, monitor, and troubleshoot Azure Databricks workflows, pipelines, and automated jobs to maximize platform uptime

Administer Azure Databricks environments, including cluster management, user access, permissions, and Unity Catalog configuration

Design, develop, and optimize scalable data pipelines using Azure Databricks and Azure Data Factory (ADF)

Implement and maintain Delta Lake solutions to support reliable, high-performance, and ACID-compliant data operations

Develop and maintain ETL/ELT pipelines to ingest, transform, and integrate structured and semi-structured data from multiple enterprise sources

Support API integrations and configure API connections using Azure API Management (APIM) and RESTful services





Maintain enterprise data lake and data warehouse environments while ensuring data quality, integrity, and performance

Implement secure access controls using Azure RBAC, Managed Identities, Service Principals, Azure Key Vault, and Unity Catalog

Apply data governance, auditing, security, and compliance best practices across the cloud data platform

Support CI/CD processes using Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions to automate data platform deployments and operational workflows

Collaborate with business stakeholders, data engineers, data scientists, and BI teams to understand business requirements and deliver scalable technical solutions

Produce technical documentation, operational procedures, and knowledge transfer materials to support ongoing platform administration and future enhancements

Qualifications
Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related discipline

Minimum 4 years of experience in cloud data engineering, cloud data platform administration, or analytics engineering

Strong experience administering Azure Databricks environments, including cluster management, workflows, job scheduling, and monitoring

Hands-on experience designing and developing data pipelines using Azure Data Factory (ADF)

Proficiency with PySpark , Spark SQL , and Apache Spark optimization techniques

Experience working with Delta Lake , Lakehouse architecture, and enterprise data platforms

Strong SQL and Python programming skills





Experience integrating REST APIs and working with JSON, XML, and other semi-structured data formats

Experience implementing ETL/ELT pipelines and enterprise data integration solutions

Knowledge of Azure cloud services, including Azure Key Vault, Azure RBAC, Managed Identities, and Service Principals

Experience with Git, GitHub, Azure DevOps, or GitHub Actions for version control and CI/CD

Understanding of data governance, security, compliance, and enterprise data quality best practices

Strong analytical, troubleshooting, communication, and stakeholder management skills

Preferred Qualifications

Experience administering Unity Catalog and implementing enterprise data governance

Experience with Terraform and Infrastructure as Code (IaC)

Experience with Azure API Management (APIM)

Knowledge of enterprise data architecture and dimensional data modeling

Microsoft Azure certifications, including Azure Data Engineer Associate or related certifications

Experience working within large enterprise cloud environments

Competitive salary of $100,000–$115,000 CAD , based on experience, skills, and internal equity
