Position summary:

Set up and operate injection-molding machines to cast products from thermoplastic materials. Responsible for maintaining injection processes to meet standard cycle times and quality requirements. Ability to properly handle material, molded product, and related inventory control. Must have experience and knowledge of proper operation of manufacturing and material handling equipment.

Position duties: May include, but are not limited to, the following:

Ensure that all the auxiliary molding processing equipment is in optimum condition and maintained

Perform mold and material changeover as per proper procedures

Starts up of molds and molding equipment as per approved standard procedure developed

Maintain molding process in tolerance as per Master Setup Sheet.

Maintain close communication with operator, supervisors and process specialists to timely meet quality and delivery

Clean mold machines as per Manufacturing Molding Procedures and guidelines.

Inform the Molding Process Specialist of any possible improvement that involves the molding process. This includes peripheral equipment.

Timely address and communicate any concern regarding safety, quality, processing, and related equipment downtime to Technical Team Supervisor and/or Process Specialist

Responsible for keeping and maintaining all molding equipment clean and organized at all time

Follow and timely complete directives given by Shift Supervisor and Technical Team Supervisor

Generate tool and maintenance work orders

Perform minor preventative maintenance on tooling

Attend all required meetings and training when scheduled

Maintain a safe and clean work area

Must be knowledgeable in required personal protective equipment

Regular and predictable attendance

Must be a team player

Other duties as assigned

Required skills and experience:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty in a satisfactory manner.



The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required

Education and/or Experience

2 years’ experience in an injection mold technical role

Grade 12 or equivalent

May be required to operate a forklift on occasion; must successfully pass both written and practical aspects of forklift exam when applicable

Will be required to operate overhead crane; must successfully pass both written and practical aspects of the crane training program

Safety Requirements

Must observe and practice all safety regulations, including the wearing and proper usage of the necessary personal protective equipment required for any task

Language Skills

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos

Ability to write simple correspondence

Reasoning Ability

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions

May have the ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations

Mathematical Skills

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and talk or hear

The employee frequently is required to reach with hands and arms





The employee is occasionally required to walk; climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl

The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 35 pounds and occasionally may maneuver up to 50 pounds

Specific vision abilities required by this job may include, but are not limited to close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception

Must be able to stand continuously for the duration of scheduled shift

Preferred skills and experience:

Experience with JSW & Milacron injection presses

Experience working with end of arm, including troubleshooting

Must be able to work overtime and to work overtime at short notice

Must be able to work well with other associates and follow all company rules, regulations and policies.
