We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Optometric Assistant to join our eye care team. This role involves providing exceptional patient care, supporting front desk operations, and assisting with optical services. The ideal candidate will have a passion for healthcare, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Prior experience in medical offices or optical settings is preferred, along with familiarity with electronic medical records and medical terminology. Responsibilities
- Greet patients warmly and assist them through the check-in process at the front desk
- Manage patient appointments and schedule follow-up visits using electronic medical records systems such as Revolution EHR.
- Prepare exam rooms and assist optometrists during eye examinations and procedures
- Collect patient history and update medical records accurately
- Educate patients on contact lens selections
- Handle retail sales of contact lenses, and accessories
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of clinical and optical areas
- Support administrative tasks including billing, insurance verification, and data entry
- Provide exceptional patient care by addressing questions and ensuring comfort throughout visits
Requirements
- Previous experience in a medical office setting or optical practice is highly desirable
- Familiarity with electronic medical records systems such as Revolution EHR or similar platforms
- Knowledge of medical terminology related to eye care is preferred
- Strong communication skills with a compassionate approach to patient care
- Ability to multitask efficiently in a busy environment
- Ability to work as part of a team while maintaining professionalism and attention to detail
Pay: From $17.00 per hour
