Who We Are: A&S; Design Ltd. was started as a small manual shop. A&S; Design Ltd. invests in their employees and train apprentices through ITA programs in BC – as such, they always have Journeyman and Apprentice Machinists on staff. We are a very culture focused company and have built a strong foundation of trust and teamwork internally and among clients. The Role (This is not a slow shop)

This position is fast-paced and high pressure, supporting customer-facing projects where timelines and quality are critical. Expect custom work, shifting priorities, and the need to communicate clearly when things change.

What You’ll Do

- Read and interpret drawings, job travelers, and technical instructions
- Set up and run manual lathe/mill (plus drill press/saw as needed)
- Machine one-off and short-run custom parts to spec and tolerance
- Measure/inspect parts (mics, calipers, indicators, etc.) and document as required
- Troubleshoot setups, tooling, and process issues—quickly and safely
- Juggle multiple jobs and deadlines without sacrificing quality
- Keep a clean, protected workstation and support shop flow





What We’re Looking For

- 5+ years machining experience (manual required)
- Strong measuring skills and attention to detail
- Comfortable with high expectations, tight turnarounds, and changing priorities
- Solid communication (English) and team-first attitude
- Able to lift 50 lbs and stand for extended periods

Nice-to-Haves

- Red Seal / apprenticeship completion
- Forklift ticket
- Class 5 or 7 license
