Join a Team Supporting Canada’s Aeronautical Mapping Capabilities
GoGeomatics Canada is assembling a team of experienced Senior Geomatics Specialists for a proposed multi-year Government of Canada consulting opportunity supporting advanced aeronautical charting, defence mapping, geospatial production, and aviation mapping systems.

This opportunity is intended for highly experienced professionals with direct experience in aeronautical charting, military mapping, aviation GIS, or comparable defence geospatial production environments.

If you have built or maintained aeronautical mapping products, supported aviation navigation systems, or worked within specialized defence mapping programs, we would like to hear from you.

About the Opportunity
The successful consulting team will contribute to specialized geospatial production supporting aviation and defence applications.

Responsibilities may include:

Aeronautical chart production

Advanced GIS analysis

Geospatial database design and maintenance

Cartographic production

Geospatial workflow automation

Data transformation and quality assurance

Technical documentation

Metadata development

Production support for specialized geospatial products

Required Experience
Applicants should possess significant professional experience in several of the following areas:

Esri ArcGIS Pro

Safe Software FME Desktop

Aeronautical chart production

Defence or military mapping

Aviation GIS

Cartographic production

Geospatial workflow automation

ISO 19115 Metadata





Enterprise GIS

Geospatial quality assurance

Experience with any of the following would be considered particularly valuable:

MapLink Studio Skilled

Portable Flight Planning System (PFPS)

Digital Aeronautical Flight Information File (DAFIF)

Additional Aeronautical Flight Information File (AAFIF)

Digital Vertical Obstruction File (DVOF / TFADS)

ForeFlight data production

Government of Canada geospatial production

Royal Canadian Air Force mapping products

Defence aviation mapping systems

Work Location & Eligibility
This proposed consulting engagement is expected to be performed primarily on-site in Ottawa, Ontario (National Capital Region) within a secure Government of Canada environment.

Applicants should:

Be Canadian citizens.

Be currently residing in Canada or be immediately available to work in Canada.

Be able to work primarily on-site in Ottawa.

Be available to begin work within the timeframe required by the client.

Be eligible to obtain, or already hold, the required Government of Canada security clearance.

We are seeking a very small number of senior geomatics professionals whose experience is directly related to aeronautical charting, aviation mapping, and defence geospatial production.





If you have not worked directly in this specialized field, this opportunity is unlikely to be a match.

We are specifically looking for professionals who can demonstrate real-world experience with the technologies, workflows, datasets, and production environments outlined in this posting. General GIS experience alone will not satisfy the requirements of this opportunity.
