Job Title Test/Integration Engineer Job Description Position Summary As an Integration Engineer at Vanderlande, you will play a crucial role in integrating various components and subsystems into comprehensive solutions for complex airport and parcel systems. You will be responsible for designing, implementing, and executing tests to ensure system functionality and reliability. Working closely with multidisciplinary teams, you will contribute to the successful delivery of cutting‑edge material handling solutions that meet our customers' operational needs.
Key Responsibilities Test Design and Planning
Develop test designs and plans based on system specifications, risk analysis, and customer requirements
Implement test cases, scripts, and stubs for System Factory and Site Testing
Set up and configure test environments and tooling
Ensure test coverage of system and customer requirements through structured verification and validation activities
Test Execution and Analysis
Execute integration, system, and customer acceptance tests both in-house and on‑site
Analyze and report test results, problems, and verify solutions
Discuss results with developers, solution architects, clients, and team members
Support root cause analysis and resolution of integration and system performance issues
System Integration, Commissioning, and Handover
Integrate components into subsystems and existing Baggage Handling Systems (BHS)
Coordinate integration activities between Vanderlande systems and customer systems
Collaborate with suppliers and internal teams to ensure seamless integration of all system elements
Support planning and coordination of software and system releases required for testing and deployment
Perform site commissioning of material handling systems, including baggage handling, parcel, and related solutions
Validate system functionality and requirements through structured testing and verification activities
Support operational readiness and transition‑to‑operations activities during system handover
Act as a technical bridge between engineering, commissioning, operations, and customer teams during go‑live activities
Ensure the technical quality, performance, and successful delivery of the integrated material handling system
Project Support




Assist in defining integration strategies during the sales and quotation phases
Support Integration Managers and Project Leaders in resolving technical and system‑related issues
Identify, assess, and support mitigation of technical and integration risks
Contribute to project risk analysis and contingency management
Support coordination between engineering disciplines during project execution
Requirements and Configuration Management
Act as the internal customer throughout the project
Manage requirements traceability from conception to delivery
Minimize and document project risk by analyzing requirements and proposed system changes
Coordinate technical configuration management activities throughout project execution
Assess the impact of software, hardware, and system changes on the integrated solution
Support the implementation of approved changes throughout testing, commissioning, and handover activities
Qualifications Required Education and Experience Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Systems Engineering, or a related technical field 3–5 years of relevant experience in system integration, testing, commissioning, or system engineering activities Experience with IT and Industrial Automation systems Willingness to travel more than 60% of the time
Preferred Qualifications Knowledge of automated test tools (execution, result registration, test management)
Experience in the airport, material handling, or logistics industry
Familiarity with software release and configuration management processes
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Solid analytical and problem‑solving skills with a systems perspective Basic knowledge of Systems Engineering and/or Software Development Familiarity with testing methodologies and techniques Familiarity with requirements management, traceability,



and verification Understanding of system integration and configuration management principles Excellent communication skills in English Ability to work effectively in international, multidisciplinary teams Proactive and assertive team player Adaptability to different cultural environments Ability to work effectively under time pressure during testing and site execution phases
Work Environment and Physical Demands Primarily office‑based work with occasional site assignments May require climbing stairs or ladders during site visits May require work during commissioning, testing, and operational support periods outside regular office hours Must adhere to site safety requirements
Salary and Compensation This is a full‑time position, eligible to receive a base salary and to participate in an annual performance bonus program. The salary range listed represents the maximum and minimum starting base pay for this position as of the time of posting. Final salary offered will be determined based on factors including but not limited to the candidate's skills and experience. Salary range for this position is CAD$85,000 to CAD$93,000.
