School Cafeteria Manager / Cook

Position starts September 8th, 2026

Shift: Monday to Friday 6:30am-1:30pm

Canuel Caterers is looking for an enthusiastic, organized, and experienced School Cafeteria Manager/Cook to lead our cafeteria at Kwantlen Secondary School in Surrey, BC.

Responsibilities

- Prepare and serve fresh hot breakfast and lunch meals
- Bake a variety of muffins, scones, cookies, and other baked goods
- Prepare hot lunch entrees
- Ensure high standards of food quality, presentation, and food safety
- Operate the POS system and accurately handle cash transactions
- Balance and close the POS at the end of each shift
- Prepare bank deposits
- Complete weekly food and supply orders
- Perform monthly inventory counts and maintain inventory levels
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe kitchen




- Lead and work alongside cafeteria team members
- Deliver excellent customer service to students, staff, and administrators
- Represent Canuel Caterers professionally within the school community

Qualifications

- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Experience with inventory management and food ordering
- Comfortable using a POS system and handling cash
- Knowledge of FoodSafe practices (FoodSafe Level 1 required)
- Friendly, positive attitude with excellent customer service skills
- Reliable, dependable, and able to work in a quick-paced environment

Location: Kwantlen Secondary School Cafeteria, Surrey, BC

Salary: $20.00–$22.00 per hour, depending on experience.

Pay: $20.00-$22.00 per hour
