About the Opportunity
The Director of Finance will lead technical accounting and external reporting across a complex portfolio of public and private investment structures. This highly visible role will provide oversight of financial and investor reporting, investment valuations, fund operations, controls, and complex accounting matters while partnering closely with senior management and key internal and external stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the review of quarterly and annual financial statements and investor reporting prepared under IFRS and US GAAP, including Investment Company Accounting.
- Review Partners’ Capital Statements, commitment schedules, capital calls, distributions,
and other investor reporting deliverables.
- Oversee quarterly investment valuations and review accounting packages for individual legal entities, including tax-basis financial information.
- Present quarterly financial results, valuation matters, and significant accounting considerations to senior management.
- Maintain a strong understanding of fund and legal structures and their impact on fund flows, ownership, accounting, and consolidation.
- Provide technical accounting guidance on complex matters, including new acquisitions, transaction structuring, consolidations, and investment-related activities.
- Support fund operations, including liquidity management, forecasting, investor inquiries, compliance, and cash-flow requirements.
- Lead internal and external audit deliverables and maintain appropriate internal control documentation.
- Oversee relationships with fund administrators, auditors, valuation specialists, and other service providers to ensure timely and accurate reporting.
- Drive improvements to reporting processes, controls, systems, and data quality while coaching and developing team members.
- Support special projects and ad hoc initiatives as required.
About You
- CPA with public accounting firm (external audit) training
- Currently at the Director level (or close to)
- Solid IFRS and/or US GAAP technical financial reporting expertise
Salary Range
$170,000 - $200,000 / year
